Review 01; Oh! (The Second Album) – Girls’ Generation

So, here’s the first review for this blog; Oh! By Girls’ Generation. Let’s start, shall we? (and forgive me for the ahem… short track reviews. It’s my first time reviewing something track by track which I know I’ll have tm work on! XD >_<)

01. Oh! – The title for the album, I found Oh! quite annoying at first, but it soon grew on me. I wouldn’t say that I’m absolutely nuts for this song, though, it’s catchy, but I’m not that ecstatic over it, and yes, at times it still does annoy me.

02. Show! Show! Show! – I quite enjoyed this song. It reminds me of the type of music they’d play during a fashion advert (no, this has nothing to do with the SPAO ad they played the song with).

03. 뻔 & Fun (Sweet Talking Baby) – I’ll admit, I kind of found Jessica’s voice a little bit… strained at the beginning of the song (or does it always? :|). Other than that, like the song says, it’s a ‘fun’ track to listen to. I really like this track.

04. 영원히 너와 꿈꾸고 싶다 (Forever) – Taking a break from the fast tracks (as I would put it), this song is sweet, nothing fancy, and provides an easy listen for me.

05. 웃자 (Be Happy) – “Through the rain there’s a brighter day, Be Happy!~” What can I say? This song is full… of happiness, and yes, it does get stuck in my head every now and then. For me, this song is packed full of energy (which isn’t a bad thing).

06. 화성인 바이러스 (Boys & Girls) (feat. Key of SHINee) – One of my favourite tracks. (*-*)~~ It’s highly addicting, especially during the chorus! But at first I thought it fell short as Key only sang during the first part of the song (he could have at least done some rap in the middle?). Other than that, an enjoyable song to listen to. 8)

07. 카라멜 커피 (Talk To Me) – At first I wondered why they were talking about coffee and caramel, but after reading the translations I think it’s a really sweet song. Tiffany and Jessica’s voice really suit this song too, especially Tiffany. It’s… how do I put it, ‘very right’ for this song. Simple and very very nice, it’s a perfect song to play when you’re relaxing at a café or something with your lover (well, that’s how I imagine in my head, at least… |D ).

08. 별별별 (☆★☆) – This song… (;A;)~ I love it, a lot. I have no words to describe this song. It actually made me tear up as I read the meaning of the song. The pace, vocals… it’s perfect in this song.

09. 무조건 해피엔딩 (Stick Wit U) – The beginning of this song was annoying as hale, so I skipped this track. Sorry, folks. >_>

10. 좋은 일만 생각하기 (Day By Day) – The beat of this song is relaxing, but Jessica’s voice… was kind of annoying in this song, I’m sorry. ;__; (come on, Jessica, I know you can do so much better!). Other than that, I really enjoyed this song.

11. Gee – GEE GEE GEE GEE BABY BABY BABY BABY! The song that got (mostly) everyone hooked up in their head in 2009. I hate to love this song, and I love to hate it, but I still like to listen to it, and that’s all I can say about this song. >_<

12. 소원을 말해봐 (Genie) – Okay, meaning of the song aside, I LOVE this song. It’s addictive, catchy, and I just love it. The Korean MV was… kinda of ~dodgy~ though, but yeah, the other than all of that; the song is amazing ♥

Overall review: A catchy album, but it didn’t WOW me to another level. The upbeat songs were nice, some annoying (Track 9 coughcough), some catchy, some nice, annoying AND catchy (GEE GEE GEE GEE GEE~) but the slow songs certainly made up for it.
